Elk Management Steering Committee to meet

The North Cascades Elk Management Group Steering Committee will hold the first meeting of the North Cascades Elk Management Group this month.

The public meeting will be held Wed., June 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sedro-Woolley Community Center, 703 Pacific St. in Sedro-Woolley.

At this meeting, the steering committee will propose a mission statement for the group and discuss its proposed goals and objectives. Additional topics to be covered at the meeting include:

  • Introduction to the North Cascades Elk Herd Plan update and current management issues
  • Identification of additional stakeholders to be included in the group
  • Open question and answer forum
